About CIMUSOFT

Who we are

CIMUSOFT grew out of years of experience in software development and diverse areas of IT, including network administration and support, CAD/CAM, and database management. That experience shapes our approach to technology: applying knowledge and common sense to create practical solutions.

Our slogan captures that philosophy: “Smart IT Solutions.”

Our mission

To create useful, practical software that meets real needs and brings value to the people who use it. Sudoku-Layer puts that idea into a logic game: a Sudoku variant created by CIMUSOFT for people who enjoy discovering connections between numbers.

Why develop games? Because we also believe in the value of taking a break and doing something different. We want to offer logic games that let people enjoy a mental challenge for the simple pleasure of thinking, exploring, and finding solutions.

Our vision

To bring our games and tools to multiple platforms, from the web and desktop to iOS and Android devices, so people can use them wherever it suits them best.

Our path is to develop applications for Spanish- and English-speaking users, with the same care for usefulness, simplicity, and quality on every platform.

Why CIMUSOFT?

The name brings together our cultural roots and our passion for technology.

CIMU takes its inspiration from a Taíno word referring to a person’s forehead. This connection to the Indigenous peoples of the Caribbean ties our identity to Cuba and to a familiar Spanish expression: “tener dos dedos de frente.” Literally, it means “to have two fingers’ breadth of forehead”; figuratively, it means to act with common sense, good judgment, and practical intelligence.

SOFT refers to software, the medium through which we turn our ideas into tools and experiences.

That is what CIMUSOFT means to us: software technology applied with common sense and practical intelligence.

And because ingenuity leaves room for humor, we have a saying of our own:

“We only have two fingers’ breadth of forehead… but at least one of them works.” 😉

Did you know?

Taíno heritage lives on in words we use every day. Many entered Spanish and, through it, English and other languages. These word pairs reflect the Indigenous linguistic legacy of the Caribbean:

The idea behind Sudoku-Layer

Sudoku-Layer keeps the pleasure of deducing where a digit belongs and offers another way to read the board. Each cell connects a circle, a color layer and, depending on its position, a row or column. Circle sums add another constraint that helps reveal relationships between those groups.

The web version offers four levels, pencil notes, Undo and progress indicators. The public guide and strategy examples explain the rules and reasoning; the tutorial remains available during play. Our goal is to help you learn the variant and enjoy it at your own pace.
